Ashlee Simpson planning wedding for may

Ashlee Simpson is pregnant and plans to get married next month at a private residence in Southern California, a source close to her family tells PEOPLE.

Simpson, 23, is engaged to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, 28, who initially blasted pregnancy rumors as a "witch hunt."

But on Tuesday, Simpson, sidestepped the rumors during an interview with MTV after taping TRL in New York, saying simply, "Some things you want to keep personal."

And now the source tells PEOPLE that not only is Simpson pregnant, but that she's planning to have her wedding in May at a friend's house in La Jolla, Calif., north of San Diego.

Sarah Larson: How I met George Clooney

From cocktail waitress to A-list girlfriend – Sarah Larson is living the dream.

Now the former Fear Factor winner is opening up about how she snagged George Clooney, one of the planet's most eligible bachelors.

Although it's been widely reported that the two met at the June 2007 Ocean's Thirteen premiere at the Palms Casino Resort on Las Vegas, she says they actually met much earlier.

"It was on his birthday three or four years ago at Whiskey at [Vegas's] Green Valley Ranch," Larson says, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The actor was with a group of pals, including Whiskey Bar owner Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford's husband). "I was with some friends. We were all dancing, taking pictures, being silly."

At the time, Larson worked as a cocktail server at the venue – but she was dating someone else.

Then, when Clooney arrived in Vegas for the Ocean premiere last summer, "he heard I was working at Moon [nightclub]." The actor tracked her down, she says, and "we hung out." A month later, he invited her to go to Italy.

Mariah Carey Surpasses Elvis in No. 1s

LOS ANGELES - With her 18th chart-topper "Touch My Body," Mariah Carey has passed Elvis Presley for the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard singles chart, and is now second only to the Beatles. But while the diva was in full celebration mode after learning of her latest milestone, she was also quick to put her accomplishment in perspective.

"I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told The Associated Press on Tuesday via phone from London. "That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."
Carey's single is the new No. 1 single on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart: The song also is No. 1 on the trade magazine's digital download chart thanks to a precedent-setting 286,000 downloads in its debut week. She had been tied with Presley with 17 No. 1 singles; the Beatles are the all-time leaders with 20.

"Touch My Body" is the first single off of Carey's upcoming album "EMC2," due out April 16. It is the follow-up to her Grammy-winning disc "The Emancipation of Mimi," released in 2005, that year's best-selling album with five million copies sold; it marked a huge comeback for the multiplatinum superstar after personal and professional setbacks.

Beyoncé Knowles and longtime beau Jay-Z have taken out a marriage license in Scarsdale, N.Y., PEOPLE has learned.

According to a source, the pair obtained a license Tuesday morning. The document is valid for 60 days.

A rep for Beyoncé told PEOPLE, "No comment." Jay-Z's spokesperson could not be reached.
